Internal appointments include two creative directors and a senior designer, as well as a raft of new hires

Ogilvy UK has today announced a raft of senior promotions and hires in the agency’s creative department. Longstanding creative partners Dave Anderson and Ian Brassett have been promoted to creative directors, while Dom Flaherty has been promoted to senior designer.

The trio have steered some of Ogilvy UK’s most impactful, award-winning and viral campaigns of the last seven years. Dave and Brassett helped shape Dove’s global influencer-led #TurnYourBack campaign, encouraging audiences to ‘turn their backs’ to TikTok’s Bold Glamour filter, which earned over one billion social impressions and won Gold for Creative Effectiveness at this year’s Cannes Lions.

Dom Flaherty has also designed some of Ogilvy UK’s most recognisable typography in recent years, including Mayor of London’s news-dominating Say Maaate to a Mate campaign, which Dave and Ian also worked on. This featured everywhere from OOH billboards in Piccadilly Circus to earned placements in The Economist.

Their work has contributed to other significant wins for Ogilvy UK too. Maaate picked up a Gold at this year’s LIAs and last week scooped the coveted Grand Prix at the 2024 DMAs.

The promotions follow several other hires in the agency’s creative department. This includes award-winning creative partners Andy and Katie Burrell, alongside rising stars Annie Wisbey and Charlie Lea, who completed their placements and became full time creatives in the summer. Ogilvy UK also appointed the renowned Natasha Wellesley as head of integrated production earlier this year.

Dave Anderson and Ian Brassett, creative directors, Ogilvy UK, said, “When we were told we were becoming creative directors our first response was “do we now get free scrambled eggs upstairs” and then, “we’re chuffed to bits to play such an important role in the world’s greatest network. We’ve been here for seven years and the momentum just keeps building. Whether that be creating more award-winning work, bringing new clients on board, finding fresh new teams or just improving a brands communication by 10% at a time. It’s an amazing time to be at Ogilvy with an unbelievable team at the helm. To play such a role in the world’s greatest network is a dream come true. Especially for us two Essex wallies.”

Dom Flaherty, senior designer, Ogilvy UK, said, “Ogilvy is a real hub for creating great work alongside some of the most talented people in the industry, while also having a lot of fun. From global brand campaigns and typography-led posters made of cake icing, to creating linocut campaign artwork for the Mayor of London – the opportunities are endless. It’s an honour to be recognised by this amazing agency. I look forward to what the future holds.”
