With a new animated video released every day on Instagram and WeChat, the holiday adventure follows the magical journey of a little Christmas Star who travels to earth and is welcomed by a myriad of whimsical creatures and characters.
Every day we follow the Star to another amazing new destination, where it is met with warmth and kindness – bringing to life the welcome guests feel whenever they visit Shangri-La.

That’s why we’re delighted at how the Holiday Tale delivers both a wonderful brand narrative and a smile to the face of everyone watching it, every day,” says Sarah-Leith Izzard, Creative Director on the Shangri-La business at Ogilvy & Mather Hong Kong, the agency behind the campaign.
From tigers to manatees, icy tundra to deepest seas, every step of the incredible journey was painstakingly animated by a team of international talents at Cirkus, under the leadership of Romain Borrel, featuring artists from as far afield as Auckland and Shenzhen.
The campaign also features an original score by Jianping Zou – an acclaimed Chinese composer and musical professor.
Carrying on their tradition of welcoming guests all around the world with warmth and peerless hospitality, Shangri-La’s unique and endearing holiday adventure also offers consumers the chance to win prizes and stays in their hotels.
