Every summer, social feeds are filled with photos of legs set in front of idyllic bodies of water and picturesque views. With more than 9.1 billion views on TikTok alone, 'Hot Dogs or Legs' makes viewers question: are they hot dogs, or are they legs? This summer, Oscar Mayer is owning the conversation by forever associating these idyllic photos with Oscar Mayer hot dogs with the launch of '#HotDogsForLegs.'
The 'Hot Dog Legs' campaign from Johannes Leonardo debuts with bold visuals of real hot dogs on social media and out of home in Huntington Beach, Los Angeles, throughout Chicago and the Chicago lakefront, along with mobile boat billboards that transverse the Miami and Fort Lauderdale coasts. Later this month, Oscar Mayer will be scouring social feeds to roll out additional creative featuring real imagery of fans 'hot dog legs.' After all, all hot dog legs are Oscar Mayer legs this summer.
Nathan Frank, group creative director, Johannes Leonardo, “For more than a decade, every summer, legs that look suspiciously like hot hot dogs have shown up on everybody’s social feed, obscuring otherwise picturesque views. This summer, Oscar Mayer is proving once and for all that Hot Dog Legs will eternally be considered Oscar Mayer.”
Kelsey Rice, associate director, Oscar Mayer brand communications, “Oscar Mayer is excited to finally give the #HotDogsOrLegs debate the spotlight it deserves. A natural extension of our ‘Keep it Oscar’ brand program, this activation brings the fun of Oscar Mayer to life-celebrating legs that look like hot dogs and Oscar Mayer's delicious meats."
