PAGE International Services has unveiled its latest spot for Tesco Mobile, created in collaboration with BBH London and produced through production company Stink Films. Entitled ‘Welcome to The Helpful Network’, the charming campaign film shows the rescue mission of a farmer who becomes trapped in a well and is then saved by a trusty Tesco’s trolley who ‘wheels’ through the vast countryside landscape to find the nearest Tesco Mobile store and send help.
With rolling hills, stone walls, green fields and beautiful rivers as their starting reference, PAGE offered their location scouting services to source landscapes in Portugal to emulate the quintessential British countryside. The film was shot in February, an ideal time of year due to the lack of rainfall, bright conditions and vibrant green fields which provide optimal time to shoot outside and utilise the rich Portuguese countryside for the trolley to journey through.
Under the supervision of line producer Nick Roycroft, the team selected locations that were just one hour and 45 minutes away from Portugal’s capital city, Lisbon, where filming would be continued in a studio. Logistically, this proved ideal for local production crew who only needed one day travel and overnight accommodation provided.
PAGE were also on hand to test and rehearse the rigs for the puppeteering of the trolley, who’s movements were done entirely in camera.
‘Welcome to The Helpful Network’ will run across TV, online, social and digital in the UK and Ireland.
