Born and raised in Sao Paulo, Brazil, now based in Barcelona Pedro began making his own films at an early age before attending film school and now, a decade into his commercial career, his iconic, powerful storytelling has led to him to work for top brands such as Budweiser, Heinz, and Fanta.
Did you know that it is illegal to handle a salmon in suspicious circumstances under the UK’s Salmon Act of 1986? And that a law enshrined in the penal code forbids someone in Texas owning more than six dildos? In Pedro’s outlandish film “Questionable Laws” about the legalisation of cannabis, this and many other archaic laws are brought to life in an artfully crafted film, winning him a 1.4 award, amongst others.
Philippa Thomas from FLIPT said, “Pedro’s Brazilian curiosity, humour, warmth, and imagination floods through his work, creating a style that is uniquely his and sets him apart. We are thrilled to have him join FLIPT and great things lie ahead for him”.
Alzheimer’s “Glitch” received the accolade of being included in AdAges top 30 films of 2023 and has won awards in 20 categories. The film uses unique data mashing techniques to show the day to day experiences of people living with Alzheimer’s. It perfectly illustrates the glitches in their perception of reality, often with heart-breaking consequences, in a truly original way.
On joining Pedro said, “It’s great to be joining FLIPT’s carefully curated roster of directors, the work they do is so fresh, I am excited to be a part of it, and excited for 2024.”
