Taco Bell teams up with Deutsch LA for its latest spot featuring Pete Davidson as the Taco Bell Brand Apologist. In the latest iteration he has an 'E-Pete-phany' and unlocks a new level of simplicity when things feel too complicated. Taco Bell didn’t have a breakfast taco, even though the word taco is in their name and now they do.
Today, Pete showed Taco lovers the Toasted Breakfast Tacos, which effortlessly combine fluffy eggs, melted cheese and the option of bacon, sausage, or potato within a tortilla grilled to early morning perfection. He’s making good on Taco Bell’s promise earlier this year to make breakfast easier than ever with simple and familiar, yet delicious choices to ignite their morning routines. Are you hungry yet?
For these spots, Pete is reunited with SNL alum, director Hannah Levy. Hannah was the first queer shorts directors in Saturday Night Live history. They’ve directed hosts including Billie Eilish, John Mulaney and more.
“With this being my third Taco Bell breakfast campaign, I hope that people everywhere are realizing just how simple and familiar Taco Bell’s breakfast menu is,” said Pete Davidson, Taco Bell brand apologist. “I was a bit surprised Taco Bell’s Toasted Breakfast Tacos weren’t already a menu staple – it’s in the name. But now it’s on the menu, giving you one more reason to visit Taco Bell in the morning.”
“Just like breakfast at Taco Bell, the creative was back to the basics. Pete back in sweats, at the same Taco Bell where he first apologized,” said Matt Ian, co-chief creative officer, Deutsch LA. “That theme continued on screen and behind the lens. We paired Pete with his Taco Bell cashier co-star Jazmin Williams and Saturday Night Live director Hannah Levy. Because sometimes simple is exactly what we need.”
