The event is set to inspire consumers to be more adventurous and encourage people to add simple taste twists when it comes to the breakfast occasion

Alpro has teamed up with Michelin-trained chef and TikTok sensation, Poppy O’Toole to host a five-course breakfast (for £5!) at a one-off London event. The event is set to inspire consumers to be more adventurous and encourage people to add simple taste twists when it comes to the breakfast occasion, as almost a quarter (23%) of breakfast enthusiasts say they are much better at exploring options and trying new things for their evening meal.

The campaign, in partnership with Ketchum aims to bring the excitement of dinnertime experiences to the breakfast table, as more than nine million people admit to eating the same thing each morning for at least the last five years.

Taking inspiration from the style of popular dinner time meals, Alpro will launch the UK's first plant-based breakfast tasting menu at the one-off event, the meal will take place on Thursday 14th March at Mortimer House where Poppy is set to serve up the five plant-based courses. Designed especially for this occasion the menu includes breakfast classics from a warm almond and banana waffle served with creamy almond butter and juicy peaches, to crispy curried hash browns topped with a dollop of creamy coconut yoghurt alternative, and sweet mango chutney – it even offers guests a breakfast amuse bouche!

Breakfast lovers will kick-start their culinary journey with a whole host of plant-based drinks and snacks on offer. They’ll get to hear from Poppy on how the recipes were developed and learn how Alpro can reinvigorate their morning meal in a delicious way.

Supported by a range of shopper, ATL and sampling activity, Alpro will make it easy for consumers to make an Alprolicious twist to their breakfast. Shopper activity led by Twelve will drive action and encourage shoppers to add Alpro to their basket, while sampling by Purity will be on offer at key worker sites for people to try weaving plant-based products into their breakfast routine. Paid media activity, which is being spearheaded by Wavemaker, will see Alpro create multisensory, surround-sound taste experiences through a combination of AV, digital and social activity.

Zoe Gardner, senior brand manager at Alpro, said, “At Alpro, we know adding simple taste twists, like introducing plant-based products to your breakfast, helps us shake things up in a delicious way. Though, as our research shows, the nation feel more adventurous when it comes to their evening meal. That’s why we’re so excited to be launching our plant-based breakfast tasting menu packed with taste variety so we can bring the excitement of dinnertime to the breakfast table.”

Each ticket costs £5 to dine – only £1 per course! – and proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to the charity, Food Cycle, which connects communities, reducing loneliness and food poverty. Tickets are available on the Alpro website.

What’s more, for those who can’t make it in person, the easy-to-follow recipes will be available on the Alpro website for morning meal enthusiasts to try in their very own kitchen.
