Porch House Welcomes Filmmaker Matt Hopkins

Porch House has announced the newest addition to its roster, Matt Hopkins. Known for his focus on documentary-style filmmaking and travel narratives, Matt brings a fresh perspective that infuses humanity into commercial storytelling, distinguishing him and his work in the industry.

Whether he’s capturing authentic narratives from real people or orchestrating compelling performances from cast talent, Matt’s hallmark is crafting immersive, emotionally charged work.

Matt got his start with a camera and a backpack, scouring the backstreets of London making documentaries about antiheroes and outsiders. Ultimately, these stories were released as a series titled, 'England Your England.' The films struck a deep chord with audiences both online and at festivals, picking up multiple Vimeo Staff Picks, and worldwide festival awards.

From there, brands and agencies worldwide wanted Matt’s ability to tell powerful stories with a cinematic aesthetic, often without many resources, causing Matt to get creative. He took the opportunities head-on, creating authentic narratives with real people from all walks of life. This work garnered awards for Land Rover, BBC, Samaritans, and Visit Dubai and took Matt to over 50 countries for his work as he built out his portfolio.

“In a world where AI and disinformation are rife, to me truth matters and my work has gone full circle, where I love nothing more than telling real stories with real people about important issues for brands and agencies all over the world” shares Matt. “It’s no longer just me and a camera, but that search for truth, authenticity, and connection with every story I put on screen remains the same.
