Boutique Porsche shop Turbogarage has unveiled a thrilling new film, showcasing a new special restoration car - the vintage Porsche 930 Turbo Group B. Directed by Diamond Rocket’s Laurentius Emmelmann, the spot combines the power of childhood dreams with the modern-day passions of car restoration and racing - proving that you should grow up, but never grow old.
The 1’50” film draws inspiration from the personal experiences of Turbogarage founders Matthias and Stefan, who spent their childhood days in their father's car repair shop. Weaving a tale of passion and nostalgia, rooted in the joy of childhood dreams coming to life, footage of the restored car speeding through a thunderous storm is interwoven with charming clips of a child at play in his Kettcar (children's pedal car). The deeply personal story lays the foundation for the narrative, which Laurentius brought to life in collaboration with Supertoyfilms Collective.
The film, shot over three days in various locations across Germany, incorporates stunning driving scenes filmed at an airfield to simulate the birth of a storm and a challenge met head-on. The storm's intensity was skilfully added in postproduction by the acclaimed Kaeptn VFX in Hamburg, enhancing the overall cinematic experience.
Laurentius comments: “What an awe-inspiring marvel: when the turbocharged thrust surges and presses you into the seat… it’s pure euphoria. That’s what we had to bring to the screen. There is no engine more powerful than a childhood dream - and this car is the childhood dream of its owners come true.”
