Stone Dogs has just completed the second series of commercials for the Australian arm of the No-commission estate agents Purple Bricks.
The wry, dry and occasionally slightly dark humour has become a signature for the Purple Bricks brand and these spots are continuing to strengthen that ownership.
This time we have two spots with our hapless protagonists distraught to find out that they have needlessly spent huge amounts of money on commission , accompanied by three spots which have simpler messages proposed by our friendly Purple Bricks agents regarding services offered.
Canvas, sees our “suburban ladies art club” dabbling in a little landscape study, the comfortable feeling of having sold her house suddenly crushed for our heroine by discovering that she has needlessly spent thousands on commission, her rather startling nervous reaction is to daub a great swathe of paint down her informant friends face.
Juice, finds two upwardly mobile aspirational gents discussing the house sale in the slick modern kitchen while our seller is crafting the latest power-shake/juice/vitboost, he admits he didn’t really know what you’d get from the Purple Bricks service, but upon finding out that it’s a full service estate agent without the commission, his sudden physical torpor sends the juicer into action - minus the lid - the ensuing gloop fest covers just about everything in sight.
The three accompanying films are simpler in message , with our Purple Brick agents discussing various benefits of the service from beautifully photographed typically Australian environs, they are interrupted by characterful locals/homeowners and urged to remind us of another of the many benefits of using a non bricks and mortar estate agency. These are executed with a wonderfully comforting pace, the messages allowed to breathe as they are delivered, which produce delicately quirky, and simple, but memorable spots.
Working closely in conjunction with agency SNAP London, Stone Dogs was delighted to provide a full finish for the spots, with grade organised at Silk , Flame finishing and final international deliverables list compiled and completed at Stone Dogs Fitzrovia office.
Dave Kiddie for Stone Dogs “These are some lovely spots once again for Purple Bricks, and it’s great to be able to get stuck in and help out with some VFX enhancements, including head and sky replacements, but hopefully you’ll never see any of it! It’s always a pleasure working with Liam Wilson and Matt Hynds (the creatives from SNAP) they write bloody funny stuff, and we know the pictures will do the scripts justice”
