The latest EP from Kam-Bu is a politically motivated track in direct retaliation to current Conservative leadership. The lyrics speak on how current government legislation treats the working class population and how the Tory party is making a mockery of the British political landscape. The heavily rebellious narrative of the song is heightened with Jay Green at the helm of directing the exaggerated visuals.
Jay crafted a Pinocchio-inspired fable starring a not-so-fictional character ‘Richard Fibber’ as he rallies for the PM role, each time he is untruthful his nose continues to grow. As the race for leadership continues and Fibber negotiates back hand deals, his nose becomes ever more prominent posing huge social outcry and press headlines. All the while, Kam-Bu continues to taunt the politician both online and off, making a mockery of the man who is being punished for his own deception, finally.
Jay Green’s response to the song places Kam-Bu as the everyman disillusioned with the elitist government, but also sends a message of hope that it is the people that can bring liars to their knees. His stripped back visuals put the narrative and concept at the forefront. Jay uses a mixed media approach to animation to depict the whirlwind of media takedowns in his signature style.
