Health technology company Abbott and the Brain Injury Association of America (BIAA) have joined forces with comedian and actress Rebel Wilson to raise awareness about the seriousness of concussions in a new PSA, which just published online today.
As the inaugural spokesperson of Concussion Awareness Now, a coalition of non-profits formed by Abbott and BIAA, Rebel is leading the charge to change how society views concussions. Often occurring as the result of everyday accidents such as slips and falls, more than half of suspected concussions are ignored.
Directed by Great Guns USA’s Oren Kaplan, with creative from John Maxham and Vince Cook, and creative and PR support from GCI Health, the spot offers a crash-course on concussions through a comedic lens.
An awareness advocate after suffering herself, Rebel brilliantly debunks concussion myths while wreaking havoc on set, accidentally releasing a python, shooting flames and launching a man into the air.
