2022 has been one for the books. This week, Reddit has released its annual Reddit Recap video - a beloved tradition for the community that began in 2020. Created in partnership with R/GA, this year's video reflects on the trending, funny and touching moments of the year and highlights how Reddit communities came together and responded in the most uniquely Reddit way.
The two-minute video takes viewers on a journey of the standout community moments of 2022 – from the heart warming and inspiring to the wacky and wonderful, and everything in between. It spotlights moments from r/place where communities banded together to make a digital canvas with 136MM+ tiled pixels in four days, and the Reddit racecar that the r/nascar community sponsored at Talladega.
Against the backdrop of an original song, the video also heroes the more intimate conversations, moments and milestones that happened across Reddit's 100,000+ communities this year, including Redditor’s support for Ukrainian refugees and so much more.
The Reddit Recap video has become a highly anticipated highlight for the Reddit community and beyond, with previous videos becoming the #2 and #3 most upvoted posts in r/blog and two of the most awarded posts in Reddit history. This year’s video will live on Reddit, as well as the brand’s YouTube and other social channels.
