Publicis showcase how being apart doesn't mean you can't be present with your loved ones during the holidays

It’s the first-ever long-format Christmas spot by a Canadian carrier – an innovative campaign centers around the universal theme of connection in the modern age, showcasing how being apart doesn't mean you can't be present with your loved ones during the holidays.

Titled "Wish You Were Here," the nearly three-minute film tells the story of a couple separated by distance during the holidays yet brought together through the magic of Rogers services.

The spot opens with a young woman in her late twenties bidding farewell to her partner as he departs for a trip. Left behind, she discovers a heartfelt message from him on her tablet, igniting a montage of their relationship unfolding through charming video chats. The emotional crescendo hits on Christmas night when the couple reunites in person, underscoring this central message: however you connect with your loved ones, you can do it with Rogers.

Music Photograph by Ed Sheeran and directed by the esteemed Academy Award-winning director Tom Hooper—known for acclaimed films such as "The King's Speech," "Les Misérables," and "The Danish Girl"— the campaign invites Canadians to celebrate the season of togetherness with the power of technology.

Vini Dalvi, Chief Creative Officer at Publicis Toronto said,  "With this campaign, we wanted to remind Canadians of the magic of the holiday season—the joy of staying close to the people who matter most. To bring this to life, we partnered with Oscar-winning director Tom Hooper to craft a heartfelt story about connection and togetherness and celebrating the moments that make the season so special."

Terrie Tweddle, Chief Brand and Communications Officer, Rogers said, "We wanted to share a heartfelt story that shows how our technology helps bring people together even when they’re apart. During the holidays, there’s no better way to bring to life our new brand platform, we got you, then through a story of love and connection.”
