FAMILIA director, Francis Wallis, blends striking AI visuals with the futuristic features of BMW’s latest car, the BMW i7. A collaboration with BMW, Sky Arts and Media.Monks as part of TME, FAMILIA uses their data-driven creative approach to elevate the epic visuals into stratospheric realms that brilliantly frame the car against colourful AI backdrops.
Director Francis Wallis said, "For this second ident for the BMW Sky Arts sponsorship, Instead of using conventional hyper-real cloud backdrops we have all seen a thousand times before, I decided to use AI to create renaissance painterly-themed cloud formations. This fusion of classical beauty and cutting-edge technology aligned perfectly with the essence of the BMW i7. This approach also felt totally on point with the Sky Arts audience it was being created for.
"We used a virtual studio's LED screens to bring our world to life. This approach symbolised the perfect harmony between art, beauty, and technology.
"From a technical perspective we got to geek out and get the most out of our technodolly to capture the precise and immersive shot that sees our camera seamlessly move over the car bonnet and through the passenger window."
Executive producer Mikey Lavelle said, “In this second of four films created for Sky Arts and in collaboration with BMW and Media.Monks, as part of TME, we further embraced and developed our next generation approach using AI as an artistic platform. Using various AI techniques and extensive coding, we had the ability to create and also manipulate the perfect renaissance cloud formations, carefully curated and choreographed in a painterly fashion.”
