Deutsch LA taps the hardcore band to soundtrack the latest campaign for fan favourite nacho fries

Upon each return of the fan-favoured Nacho Fries, Taco Bell embarks upon a new creative journey. It's quite literally become a tradition (from horror movie trailers to writer’s room Twitter threads, to award-winning anime adventures). Fans have come to look forward to these moments, waiting with anticipation to see what the brand does next.

This time around, together with Deutsch LA + The Syndicate, Taco Bell cranked up the volume and enlisted hardcore outfit, Turnstile, just as the band set off on a sold-out, headline tour with their song ‘Holiday’ hitting alt radio for the first time.

Licensing, not one but TWO songs from the recently Grammy-nominated punk band, Taco Bell is planting a flag, supporting all genres of music and budding artists. Giving them a platform and opportunity to reach mass audiences like never before. A 2015 alumni band of Taco Bell’s Feed The Beat artist incubator program, Turnstile recently provided the amped up sound for the first spot of this iteration of Nacho Fries, entitled 'Friends Car'. This week, the second Taco Bell Nacho Fries spot ‘7-layer flavour’ goes live with a second licensed Turnstile song, the fan favoured deep cut 'T.L.C. (Turnstile Love Connection)'.

“There are very few brands that would dive head-first into a mosh pit to support a band like Turnstile, but it's congruent with Taco Bell’s commitment to support music of all genres through their ‘Feed The Beat’ program. Music can drive conversation in culture. Food can drive conversation in culture. Feed The Beat is the cross-section of the two, and that puts Taco Bell in a unique position to amplify their work with music while offering artists an invaluable opportunity to be heard on a broad level.” - Deutsch LA VP, music director - Chip Herter

“Through Feed The Beat, Taco Bell has been championing artists and bands for over 15 years. The program has never focused on genre, instead choosing to support hard-working artists with burgeoning careers across the entire sonic landscape. It's been a dream to support a band like Turnstile as they ascend in their career by creating music with limitless boundaries. These spots don’t sound like anything else on television right now. The second you hear them, you’re immediately drawn in.” - The Syndicate, general manager - Graham Rothenberg
