Independent, creative and strategy agency The Distillery Project (TDP) has partnered with Consumers Credit Union (CCU), an open-to-the-public, not-for-profit institution.
Consumers Credit Union engaged TDP for strategic and creative services to develop CCU’s brand story and create a comprehensive multiplatform communication program to support awareness of the CCU offering and drive overall business growth. TDP partnered with Glass Box Research for an in-depth segmentation study to identify key audiences and the dispositions toward the financial-services sector with an emphasis on banking. From there, TDP created a strategic blueprint, brand purpose, manifesto, and an internal video that rallied CCU around their newly articulated purpose. The creative campaign is currently in production. The first work will break this spring.
“As Consumers Credit Union has grown, it has remained a special company, with engaged employees driving member loyalty through personal service and great products,” said Jim Reichart, vice president of marketing. “We partnered with The Distillery Project to take the magic we feel as employees and translate it for a wider external audience through strategically sound insights and compelling creative.”
“What Consumers Credit Union offers is very compelling, particularly in today’s economy,” said John Condon, founder and chief creative officer at TDP. “Not only does CCU provide their members with reduced fees, higher savings rates and lower loan rates, but they’re also the rare credit union that welcomes everyone. And at Consumers Credit Union, they do even better than that because they believe everyone deserves better. And we can all use a little help, especially these days.”
CCU is owned and democratically operated by its members. It is one of the largest credit unions in Illinois, with more than 178,000 members and $2.8 billion in assets.
