VCCP brings back Paul Kaye for a series of new ads shot by Jon Riche

It’s quiz time for the infamous Maurice as he returns in the first of a series of three new adverts for BetVictor.

The adverts, which were created by VCCP, champion BetVictor’s non-football offering and each focuses on a different sport – horse racing, tennis and cricket.

Each of the 30-second ads features Maurice, played by Paul Kaye of ‘Dennis Pennis’ fame, as three different sportsmen, being questioned on a number of random general knowledge subjects. The quizmaster is played by comedian Paul Garner. The final question asks where to go to bet on Maurice’s specialist sport. The answer of course, is BetVictor.

The end tagline will highlight BetVictor’s latest customer promotion or their welcome bonus offer, of up to £25.

Anton Bell, BetVictor CMO, said: "Our Maurice character has quickly become one of the most instantly recognisable advert stars on TV today and Maurice in the ‘hot seat’ provides us with a platform to communicate to the wider betting audience, across the many sports set to dominate the British spring and summer."

Julian Douglas, Vice Chairman at VCCP, added: “The latest series of Maurice ads work as a suite promoting BetVictor’s non-football offering. We’re pleased to be able to cover different business priorities for BetVictor while keeping the humour and tone of the brand.”

The first spot, “Jockey”, which focuses on BetVictor’s racing offering, will promote BetVictor’s standout offer on day one of Cheltenham – Willie Mullins to train a winner at 6/1.
