After scooping up prizes in both Gold and Silver categories at 2014’s Creative Circle awards for Army “Boots” and Eurostar “Stories are Waiting” respectively, Adam has repeated the achievement this year by taking Gold again for Best Editing with this charming spot for The Guardian/Observer.
Written by Ak Parker and George Brettel and depicting an action-packed British weekend, Adam’s edit manages to cram into 90” all the various activities, the wide-ranging hobbies, sports, chores, nightlife and family commitments, the average Briton crams into a typical weekend, including reading the paper of course.
Shot over three days on various formats, director Simon Ratigan ensured the subjects of the spot were all real families in order to guarantee a sense of authenticity.
To further the
authentic feel, Adam then had just one Bank Holiday weekend to whittle down the
25hours of rushes into a 90” film.
Thankfully, it was one of those times where everything seemed to fall
into place without a struggle.
The music was composed by BBH creative director Michael Russoff specifically for the piece, with its pacing matching Adam’s edit and providing a perfect companion to the vignettes.
Adam and Simon’s previous collaborations have been equally well received, with the aforementioned “Boots” for the British Army, “Stories Are Waiting” for Eurostar and now “Own The Weekend” all picking up major craft awards for editing both nationally and internationally.
Question is – will it be a hat trick?
