The Sweetshop Asia is excited to announce the signing of Parker Schmidt, a director whose work transforms everyday moments into extraordinary visual stories. With an adventurous spirit, keen eye for detail, and a deeply human touch, Parker’s work is both impactful and unforgettable.
Hailing from the U.S. and influenced by his time at art school in Berlin, Parker’s global perspective of filmmaking and knack for making moments that stick has caught the eye of iconic brands including Dodge, Lexus, Corona and Nike. Whether he’s crafting dynamic visual narratives or chasing new thrills off-set, he’s all about energy, exploration, and stories that linger.
Jenny Crabb, EP & BDM of Sweetshop Asia said, “Penny and I are thrilled to have Parker join our roster here in Asia, offering a unique vision and cinematic quality to his work which will continue to diversify and complement our regional offering.”
Outside the director’s chair, Parker’s always up to something creative. Whether he’s spinning clay at a pottery wheel, chasing waves, or kicking up dust on a dirt trail in his off-roader. His sense of adventure is impossible to miss. That same energy fuels his work and we can’t wait to see it come to life in his projects across Asia.
On joining the Sweetshop, Parker Schmidt shared that, “With a rich palette of admirable creative talent and an acute attention to detail, The Sweetshop was an instant draw for me. Sweetshop Asia’s executive producers, Jenny Crabb and Penny Woo are second to none. It’s a great motivator for what’s in store for the years to come."
Jenny continued, “Parker’s nimble and collaborative attitude to all his creative projects is crucial in the fast-paced environment we operate in here regionally, and naturally makes him a pleasure to work with. We look forward to what we can create together, and welcome him wholeheartedly to the team!"
