Vokshod goes on a trippy inner journey for Cherkashin Meat Factory
The trend towards veganism may be growing worldwide, but there are plenty of carnivores who find the act of eating meat a deeply emotional experience. And Russian brand Cherkashin Meat Factory has put out an ad that’s designed to resonate with those true believers.
The spot sees a man struggling to choose between a range of sausage types and his decision-making process takes him on an emotional inner journey. Things take a turn for the trippy as he is plunged into a smoking hot desert scene, where everything from the rocks to the fans and cocktails are made of sausage. Soon after he’s whisked up into a cosmic scene where the comforting taste of ham pushes him into a transcendental state of bliss. We're not sure what's happening when our hero spanks his own thigh, but some people just... really like ham... a lot. For a bit of insight into the local cuisine, the ad touches on three popular type of Russian sausage, Smoked (Servelat), Ham (Doktorskaya) and Sausage (Sosiski).
Indie agency Vokshod created the campaign – the shop is based 2,000km from Moscow in Yekaterinburg, a city nestled on the edge of the Urals and known for its rock scene and street art festival. Meanwhile, production company was the equally rocking gang at SKBD SH (read interview with co-founder Nastia Korkia here).
