This Ukrainian Military Ad is Both Poignant & Powerful

Kyiv-based ad agency Banda and Radioaktive Film joined forces to create a national campaign in support of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.  Since the outbreak of Russian-sponsored hostilities in eastern Ukraine, the country has seen a rising wave of patriotism, with an ever-growing number of volunteers joining the military.

Helmed by New York-based director Marc R. Wilkins, the new spot “Each of Us” bears the tagline: None of us was born for war, but we are here to protect our freedom.  The ad reminds viewers that the Ukrainian soldiers now fighting left family, friends and jobs back home in order to protect their country.

No government funds were spent on the project.  The film was shot entirely by volunteers from the production industry; local rental houses provided all equipment gratis. 

Already a viral hit, the spot will be aired nationally on several Ukrainian TV networks.
