Walmart Canada is proudly marking its 30th anniversary. That’s a long history of helping Canadians save money and live better. In honour of this milestone, the brand has developed a campaign that creates a sense of nostalgia and showcases the good Walmart has been doing.
Since 1994, Walmart Canada has been more than just a retailer—it’s been a trusted ally for families looking to stretch their dollar without compromising on quality. To succeed, it has kept pace with change, stayed on-trend and helped consumers where they needed it most—at the checkout.
“Walmart Canada’s 30th anniversary is a definite point of pride for us,” said Agatha Wronecka, VP, marketing communications at Walmart Canada. “This year, we’re celebrating the promise we’ve upheld since day one—to be there for Canadians when it matters most.”
To celebrate the landmark event and share it with Canadians, Walmart Canada teamed up with Cossette to launch this campaign, taking longtime loyal shoppers on a journey through the decades. Leveraging a combination of mixed media and live action with both television and social, the campaign conveys a simple truth: Whatever’s happening, Walmart makes it happen for less.
Alyssa Graff, creative director at Cossette, puts it simply, “Walmart’s affordability has opened the door to countless cultural experiences for Canadians. We saw a great opportunity to revisit some of the most iconic ones to show just how deeply Walmart is woven into our cultural fabric and strengthen our bond with Canadians.”
