Wanda London has recently announced the signing of director Camilla Mantovani.
Some people just have the directing bug – that’s Camilla’s case, who tells us: “I don’t know exactly how I ended up directing, but since I finished university, I’ve never stopped shooting personal projects and small experiments”. While at the Escac film school in Barcelona, she won a prize to direct her first short film “Alianza”– a critical success, and she hasn't stopped shooting since.
A true World citizen, Camilla is originally from Milan, but lived in Barcelona and Singapore before finding her current home, London, where strangely enough, she actually enjoys the weather: “I adore its endless cloudy light”!
All these travels are an obvious source of inspiration, as her videos reflect her fascination for the world surrounding us: whether it is a tribute to African culture for Safura or a music video at the heart of Spain’s gypsy culture for Hypnolove's "Come To My Empire". She has that specific talent for putting people at the center of her work, with a fluid connection between them and their surroundings. Obviously, it’s all gorgeous – just check out her music video for Sirens of Lesbos “Long Days, Hot Nights”.
