What’s the state of the ad industry right now? Where is it headed? And what does that mean for you?
At LBB’s inaugural Better Together event, connecting people from across industry sectors to foster collective progress, WARC head of content Alex Brownsell and the Advertising Association senior commercial manager Sarah Virani answered these questions.
The introductory talk – ‘What Does the Market Look Like Right Now?’ – took stock of the industry as it currently stands, laying bare where all the money is going, as well as predict where it’s headed.
Among plenty of others, key insights included global ad spend being predicted to surpass $1 trillion for the first time ever; digital channels (primarily retail media, connected TV, and social media) growing faster than all others; Alphabet, Amazon, and Meta accounting for 44% of the global ad market; TV experiencing one of the hardest years since 1983 globally (apart from in the UK); and the ad industry being crucial in the UK’s national renewal.
To dive deeper and uncover more pearls of wisdom from WARC and the Advertising Association, you can watch the talk in its entirety below.
