Westpac New Zealand has hired Sarah Williams as chief brand and marketing officer.
Sarah joins from telco Spark New Zealand, where she spent over eight years, most recently as brand and experience chapter lead. She joined Spark in 2016 after a long agency career at Colenso, Saatchi & Saatchi, TBWA, and DDB.
On LinkedIn, the brand said that, at Spark, Sarah was "instrumental in moving their brand to number one in market.
"Sarah is an inclusive and innovative leader and we look forward to her joining us on our mission to modernise banking and build a fairer and stronger Aotearoa."
Westpac New Zealand's creative agency is Publicis' Saatchi & Saatchi. Stablemates Digitas and Spark Foundry handle the brand's data and CRM, and media accounts, respectively.
At Spark, Sarah's team worked with Colenso BBDO. Most recently, the agency
launched New Zealand's first dedicated gaming festival, driving 20,000 interactions and giving away NZD$250,000. As part of the festival build, the telco and agency created a giant digital snake.
