A new PlayStation spot has LBB's Addison Capper pondering what if The Queen's Gambit had been set in a dystopian future?

What if Queen's Gambit was set in a Blade Runner-esque, futuristic, slightly dystopian world? This is probably not a question you have ever asked yourself but, perhaps, it did cross the minds of the folk at adam&eveDDB when developing the latest 'Play Has No Limits' spot for PlayStation.

Directed by Riff Raff's Francois Rousselet, the film sees dozens of elaborate characters travel through a city laid out like a chessboard as a metaphor for the feeling of exhilaration that comes with playing video games on a PlayStation. It tells the story of two rival Kings who battle through an epic game, and follows the progress of a pawn - the most unassuming piece on the board - as she makes her way through the city. Different challenges come her way as she progresses but ultimately she makes her way to the rival King’s penthouse to win the game for her team.

It's a standout in what is a bit of a corker Work of the Week. It sits alongside the launch campaign for Windows 11, a Dubai Tourism ad with two Zac Efrons, a video game controller made out of a banana and a lot more.
