Zayn Malik's Solo Debut is Dripping with Sex, Blood & Trippy Visuals
'Pillowtalk,' the evocative debut single and video by Zayn, is available today. The video for 'Pillowtalk' features Zayn with model Gigi Hadid and was directed by Independent Films / Indy8’s multi-award winning filmmaker Bouha Kazmi. The video was shot over one epic day and then spent 10 weeks in post nailing the wide range of techniques that Bouha and Zayn wanted to explore.
'Pillowtalk' is the first single from Zayn's highly anticipated debut album MIND OF MINE, which will be available on March 25 via RCA Records. The release of MIND OF MINE comes on the anniversary of Zayn's decision to become a solo artist and focus on the next chapter of his music evolution. "Once they hear it, I feel like they will understand me a little bit more," Zayn recently disclosed to FADER. "For 10 years, this album has been in my brain, and it's just been there, sat with me, needing to be out."
Working with Zayn on his debut album, noted producer Malay (Frank Ocean) described him as "pure genius. An artists' artist. A shining star with a genuine heart." Zayn recently received a surge of attention with his Billboard magazine cover where they affirm "judging from his music, he's poised to impress the dominant music geeks of the day, who care less about guitar-slingers than artful practitioners of beats and atmosphere."
