Growing up in Paterson, New Jersey, as a child of immigrants, Layla Faraj and her parents created memories every summer visiting family in Syria. But when the Syrian War broke out in 2011, everything changed.
We're grateful to our partners at MODERN ARTS and WhatsApp for their trust and for creating the space to tell Layla’s story. We are especially grateful for Layla and her family, close and far, who welcomed us into their world.
