Have you been #Feelingnuts? Well you should do because if testicular cancer is caught early, it is 100% curable, and that’s where the Check One Two campaign ‘#Feelingnuts' aims to make a real difference. Check One Two was founded in 2012 by 2 sets of brothers, Simon and Andrew Salter and Simon and Phil Tucker who were inspired to make a change after recognising that men are needlessly dying from one of the most preventable forms of cancer. The campaign tackles male attitudes towards health by spreading awareness & educating men – and the women in their lives – about how to check for testicular cancer, breaking down the embarrassment and lack of knowledge which still surrounds this disease.
As part of the awareness campaign, Studio AKA were asked to create a 2 minute film to both introduce the #Feelingnuts campaign and Check One Two’s 90-min TV comedy show ‘FEELING NUTS’, hosted by Jack Whitehall and produced by Fulwell 73 & Attention Seekers - which will air on 19th October 2014 and brings together "a host of talent from the world of music, comedy, TV, film and sport as part of a 90-minute prime-time never-before–seen live entertainment show, empowering the nation to feel nuts and talk bollocks!"
The film itself mixes 2D flash animation with 3D CGI 3D and live sets, and in particular the creation of two attention grabbing testicle characters – unofficially known as 'the Spuds' - who lay out the campaign and the event in quite a memorable fashion.
