Monk statue can detect different legal speed limits on each road that the car is currently on

In Thailand, there are more than 35 million drivers on the road. As a land of Buddhism, 76% of Thai drivers have monk statues placed on their car dashboard, because they believe that monk statue, being holy, can save them from road accidents. However, Thailand still ranks second in the world for road fatalities. Mostly due to accidents caused by speed driving. The Thai Health Promotion Foundation wanted to help people drive safer and decrease the risk of accidents.

Introducing Speed Limit Monk Statue (distributed under Thai name as ‘Phra Rod 2.0’), the world’s first monk statue that can warn you to be mindful and cautious while driving. Using a GPS tracker and speed detector, the monk statue can detect different legal speed limits on each road that the car is currently on. If the driver exceeds the legal speed limit, the statue will automatically play preaching voices of Phre Payom (Thailand’s renowned monk) that were pre-recorded in nine different dialects, all of which warn them to be mindful, slow down and drive safer.
