Murphy to lead new business and communications in Canada for the growing agency

Huge, the global experience agency, today announced it has hired Caroline Murphy as VP, strategic growth, effective immediately. In the new dual role, Caroline will report directly to Huge Toronto’s Matt Di Paola, managing director, and will be tasked with oversight of the agency’s Canadian communications and new business development. In addition, she will provide strategic communications counsel to the agency’s top clients and play an integral role on the executive leadership team.

“Caroline brings the right mix of expertise in communications and business development that we need to continue our rapid growth across Canada and globally,” said Matt, “Her diverse experience coupled with her respected business acumen and proven success at growing and maintaining top clients for leading agencies in Canada was without a doubt the right fit for Huge.”

A seasoned integrated marketing communications expert, Caroline brings a unique skill set that combines extensive experience working for global brands across a broad range of industry sectors, both agency and client side. During her tenure at McCann Worldgroup Canada, she oversaw national marketing communications and strategy across all the agency brands in Canada including Momentum, MRM//McCann, McCann Health and Craft. Previously she has held senior management roles at Harbinger, Veritas Communications and Mosaic where she launched and oversaw operations of the North American Digital, PR and social media practices.

“The team at Huge thoroughly impressed me right from the start. The in-house collaboration of top experts and the global integration of teams across the 13 offices is unmatched by any other agency,” said Caroline “Huge is already what other agencies are trying to be, with a human-centric approach that is driven by both digital and physical design thinking, technology and innovation and supported by experts at all levels, the agency brings a unique offering to the marketplace, one that is needed and underserved in the Canadian market. I have always been passionate about what I do, and Huge’s unifying global mission ‘to make things people love’, whether that be a physical experience, a digital product or a campaign, was a natural fit for me.”

At Huge, the agency believes that brands can build strong relationships with consumers through inspired communications, engaging experiences, and seamlessly integrated experiences regardless of the channel. Utilising research and data-science to support a customer-first mentality to help guide efficient and effective decisions. Details matter at Huge – significant effort is placed on processes and methodologies internally and with partners.

Adds Matt: ‘We don’t create for creativity’s sake, we focus on creating experiences that build brands, solve problems, grow organisations and make people’s lives better. This has been, and will always be, our mission.”

Based in the Toronto office, Caroline’s mandate includes working alongside Huge’s Canadian executive leadership team to fuel growth in Canada and to support the global business development team located in Brooklyn. This addition highlights the continued growth for the agency’s Canadian operations which has recently added projects from Sinai Foundation, Giant Tiger, MaRS Discovery District, The Royal Conservatory of Music, growth with existing clients such as Four Seasons, WestJet and ATB Financial and continued support of Director X’s Operation PreFrontal Cortex.
