Prior to Derby, Hayward spent over five years at Digital Kitchen as a creative and live-action director

Creative production company Derby announced today that it has signed award-winning director Josh Hayward to its growing directorial roster.

Hayward is a director with a love for telling honest stories that are natural and human-centered with a strong eye for interesting post effects. He is best known for his deep expertise and craftsmanship in post-production and design, creating award-winning work for clients in the retail, tech and automotive spaces, including the Air Force, LL Bean, Philips, HTC, BMW and more. Hayward is also the noted filmmaker of the documentary “A Girl’s Life,” which tells stories of Nairobi’s urban poor and was most recently featured by The New York Times.

“Josh brings a differentiated perspective to our roster,” said Mary Crosse, Executive Producer of Derby. “He’s a great storyteller, but he’s also what I call a “multi-hyphenate” -- he writes, directs, edits, designs, is an experienced creative director, and he does all of these things exceptionally well.”

Prior to Derby, Hayward spent over five years at Digital Kitchen as a creative and live-action director. To date, his work has been recognized by numerous industry awards, including Cannes Lions, The One Show, Communication Arts and The FWA.

Hayward joins the diverse roster of award-winning Derby directors, including The Bozzwicks, Lucas Borras, Nickolas Duarte, Catherine Orchard and John Poliquin. Since the company launched in the fall of 2015, Derby has produced campaigns with its agency and brand partners for Listerine, S’well, General Mills, Johnson & Johnson, Beam Suntory, Erno Laszlo and more.
