The tech-sphere is alight with news of the launch of the Huawei P9. Their groundbreaking collaboration with Leica takes smartphone photography to a whole new level. Director Oliver Warren and Dingo Bill Productions have been involved with the launch the whole way.
The Dingo Bill team have travelled across Europe for the last few months capturing the spots. Director Oliver Warren and producer Jacob Madsen have created three films in total. One 60 second promo that led the global launch this week, plus two long-form documentaries, which delve further into the art of photography and Huawei’s unique approach to a global design philosophy.
“The Art of Photography” has just launched, which features a number of photographers who use Leica cameras. More recently they’ve been working with the new Huawei smartphone with its integral Leica technology and seen impressive results.
Mixing observational documentary, interview and actor-based scenarios across four countries, Oliver has created premium campaign assets that Huawei are launching on a global scale.
As a keen observational photographer Oliver was in his element working with other like-minded artists, who all share a passion for the industry’s best camera brand, Leica.
The film presents wonderfully observed and natural performances that evoke and reflect the beautifully crafted Huawei P9 smartphone.
Of the collaboration Oliver says: “This had all the elements to be the best kind of job - Huawei and Leica have created an incredible smartphone camera, and to be part of the launch has been ace. Carrying on from our Huawei Watch work in the autumn, we’re continuing our beautiful friendship with Huawei and their digital agency Isobar with the launch of their amazing new smartphone”
