Artist, actor and all-around creative Donald Glover - known for his role as Troy in the sit-com 'Community' as well as his musical output under the moniker Childish Gambino - is currently preparing for his return to the world of music. To coincide with this, audio equipment brand Bose teamed up with Donald to showcase how he uses Bose’s QuietComfort Ultra Headphones in all facets of his work.
In this spot, titled 'Sound Is Power', Donald gives fans a deeper look into this new chapter of his career; a world anchored by spectacular sound. Immersive sound plays an integral role in every aspect of the new chapter – and this is reflected in the film which shows him prepping his return to music, building a multimedia studio on his farm and expanding into new business ventures.
The artist's creative studio Gilga is behind the creative for the spot, which follows Donald through a rapid-fire series of creative problems to be solved, spanning all the artistic mediums that he partakes in. As the camera, and a posse of assistants, trail him from film set to recording studio, through an orange grove and beyond, he is tasked with delivering his creative vision amongst the chaos - eventually utilising the QuietComfort Ultra Headphones to reach some much-needed clarity. Working with Doomsday Entertainment for the production of the 60-second film, Donald also directed and wrote the spot himself. Doomsday has previously collaborated with the artist on his critically acclaimed and award-winning music video for the song 'This Is America', directed by the production company's director Hiro Murai.
The ad follows the launch of Bose’s QuietComfort Ultra Headphones and Earbuds, featuring Bose Immersive Audio, and will run on TV, digital and social in the US and UK.
