DoorDash is continuing its effort to attract Dashers with a new ad developed by Quality Meats, in collaboration with DoorDash’s internal creative studio Superette, highlighting how gig workers can earn more cash fast with DoorDash. It’s a continuation of the campaign launched by Quality Meats and Superette in May, under DoorDash’s “Your Door To More” brand platform.
The new :30 spot “Unexpected Things” addresses a problem many potential gig workers deal with on a weekly basis: the unexpected expenses that come out of nowhere, that are hard to cover with their primary jobs alone. Delivering with DoorDash is an easy and flexible way to earn that extra cash whenever they happen to need it. In the spot, a Dasher deals with an unexpected expense many people can relate to, a medical expense for a beloved pet. But thanks to DoorDash, they’re easily and swiftly able to earn the cash needed to get life back to normal.
“At some point in life, we can all relate to that panic that creeps in when an expense just pops up out of nowhere, and you’re not sure how you’re going to pull it off,” said Julio D’Alfonso, Superette group creative director. “Whether it’s a home repair, a family event, or if your beloved pet teacup pig happened to accidentally swallow your house keys, delivering with DoorDash is an easy way to offset that and get things back on track.”
The previous :30 spot, "Other Commitments," told the story of a working mom who’s able to navigate earning around her work and home life, thanks to DoorDash’s flexible yet reliable work opportunities. The new work continues the campaign’s fast-paced style, telling a charming story while visually integrating DoorDash’s literal benefits into the environment.
The campaign, which was produced by Furlined and directed by Paco Cruz, aka PACO, will run on streaming and social platforms, as well as in Canada.
