Wieden+Kennedy Portland has launched its latest collaboration with EA SPORTS FC, 'Football Is Yours'.
Supporting the worldwide launch of EA SPORTS FC 24, this film draws from EA’s new brand identity, which takes its design inspiration from triangles; a dominant shape in football culture that represents the game in multiple dimensions. From passing techniques to set plays, the shape has also been woven into the DNA of EA SPORTS football experiences for decades, which is why Wieden+Kennedy used it to transcend the video game into the real world, ultimately showcasing how everyone is able to take possession.
The sixty-second film, directed by Nick Ball, opens in a messy living room where two siblings are playing an intense FC 24 match between UEFA Champions League contenders Manchester City and Real Madrid. A gameplay version of Brazilian superstar Vinicius Junior controls the ball and gives a beautiful cross pass to the real world version of Real Madrid’s new galactico Jude Bellingham. From here we’re taken on a journey across the world where the iconic green triangle pops-up in different places.
With the ball ultimately ending at the feet of Erling Haaland, who does what he does best. Shooting the ball as hard as he can into the goal. With all its consequences*.
