Ella Robinson Joins Oskar illustration

Ella Robinson is a bilingual printmaker and graphic designer born in France, raised in the UK and currently setting up home in Sydney, Australia. 

Ella graduated from Nottingham Trent University with a 1st Class Hons in Graphic Design in 2016. From there she moved to London where she saw her design career take off and the rest, as they say, is history. 

Ella’s fascination with printmaking is rooted in her exposure to the characters of Asterix, Obelix, and Tintin during her upbringing in France and then when her family moved to the UK, the joy of discovering the wonderful world of Wallace and Gromit.

Ella’s work draws inspiration from 1970s adverts. She has a keen eye for reimagining this style and some of its themes into her own unique and inclusive designs, often choosing to hero a more diverse set of characters.

Her sense of adventure comes through in all her work with bold, endearing colour palettes and often humorous scenes. Ella’s prints have been featured in British Vogue, she’s been interviewed by Creative Boom, and raised over 10K in donations as she became the best selling artist at Art for Youth in 2023.

Outside of her professional pursuits, Ella loves the freedom and challenge of her two favourite sports - running and skiing. She likes to balance out her sporting prowess with a few glasses of wine in the sunshine, which she’ll no doubt see a lot more of in her new home in Australia! 

Ella commented on joining Oskar illustration, "I was honestly over the moon, I’ve been hunting for 18 months for the right agent who can represent me, and when Oli called something just clicked. The team at Oi! are full of creativity and the curated roster speaks volumes for their keen eye. Being part of an artist roster where everyone harnesses their style, not a trend, is one of my highest morals. 

I want to inspire, bring joy, with my work, and allow people’s minds to wander into an almost plausible land. Oi! understand my vision and straight off the bat suggested clever ways to amplify and grow my illustrations. Signing with Oi! feels just like the happy gut feeling when you know you’ve just finished a new print, it just works".
