FORUM, the international design assembly, reveals the details of their third edition which will take place this August 22nd to 24th.
The three-day program will focus on education, creation and fostering connections among players in the design field, all around a central theme – hybridity. This theme will explore the combination of tangibility with digital possibilities, integrating traditional craftsmanship with contemporary practices.
A renowned group of both local and international creatives will be present to discuss design, art, fashion and new technologies. The first day will feature talks by Fabiola Mejía from the Berlin studio Dinamo, Andrea Trabucco from the New York design studio Pentagram, Mac Moss from the American design studio Mac Moss Design, David Rudnick, typographer, designer and visual artist, Jean-Philippe Lalonde from the French brand On Running, and finally Marie-France Gaudet and Eveline Lupien from the Montreal design studio Supersystème. These conferences, welcoming over 300 participants, will take place at the UQÀM Design Center.
The second day will take place at L’ÉLOI, FORUM’s official partner. Participants will be invited to discover an exhibition highlighting the work of local and international artists, followed by a celebratory evening on the rooftop terrace, providing an opportunity to gather and exchange in a friendly and festive atmosphere.
The third and final day will be dedicated to specialist workshops organised at l'École de design de l’UQÀM. Fabiola Mejía will lead a typography workshop, Andrea Trabucco will address graphic design, and a third workshop hosted by a special guest will be announced later.
The team at FORUM would like to thank their partners: Hypercodex, UQÀM, L’ÉLOI, LG Chabot, Graphiscan, Production Type, and Coppers and Brasses.
