Glassworks has welcomed two lead artists to the London VFX team: Hannah Wilk in 2D and Felix Marrington-Reeve in the 3D department. These new hires come at an exciting time for the company as they settle into fresh new office space by the Regent’s Canal in Islington.
Hailing from New York, Hannah Wilk brings a unique blend of technical expertise and creative vision to her role as 2D Lead. With a background in Mechanical Engineering, Hannah began her post-production journey in Los Angeles, gaining experience through an animatronics internship before landing a role as Assistant Editor at Nomad Editing Company in New York. Ultimately her passion for technical challenges, closely aligned with her engineering roots, led her to the world of VFX, where she quickly excelled as a Flame Artist at Blacksmith.
Notably, Hannah led the VFX for Apple’s award-winning The Greatest, directed by Kim Gehrig, which won the Outstanding Commercial award at the 75th Emmy Awards in 2023. Recently, she was responsible for the VFX in Adidas’ highly acclaimed Hey Jude campaign. At Glassworks, Hannah will continue to innovate by bridging the gap between Flame and Nuke, further refining her artistic techniques in the process.
Felix Marrington-Reeve joins as 3D lead after honing his skills over seven years as a Technical Director at Framestore London, heading up their TD department. His deep understanding of filmmaking, combined with his expertise in problem-solving and workflow optimization, makes him a perfect fit for Glassworks’ forward-thinking team.
Felix’s portfolio is broad and diverse, ranging from spectacular features like Marvel’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and the 2023 live action The Little Mermaid, to co-directing School Birds, a queer-focused, dance-based short recently featured at the GAZE International LGBTQIA Film Festival in Dublin. At Glassworks, Felix will combine his technical and creative sides, developing cutting-edge tools while artistically leading projects, enhancing the studio’s capabilities in both innovation and output.
With the addition of Hannah and Felix, Glassworks continue their focus on maintaining an industry-leading team of talent who know what it takes to make great work. If you would like to learn more, or to speak to Glassworks about a project, email hello@glassworksvfx.com.
