ProdCo’s Leigh Powis directs the knockout trailer for Riyadh Season

Hollywood meets boxing in ProdCo’s thrilling new trailer ‘5v5’ for the Matchroom vs Queensberry super-card, directed by Leigh Powis for Riyadh Season with Big Time Creative Shop. Set to take place at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh on June 1, this event promises to be a landmark moment in the world of boxing, and Powis’ trailer perfectly captures the raw energy and excitement of the upcoming showdown.

Leigh Powis’ vision for the trailer centers on delivering authentic fight scenes with raw brutality and satisfying knockout moments. The core of the film is the realistic fight scenes, choreographed and shot to emphasize the physicality, skill, and brutal nature of boxing. As promoters Frank Warren and Eddie Hearn discuss the respective fighters, the film uses flashbacks synchronized with their verbal descriptions to reveal each fighter's background. From a butcher who knocks out debt collectors to a thief who leaves shiners as payment, each fighter's unique skill set and persona are brought to life.

The seven-minute film introduces 10 fighters involved in the event, with Frank Warren and Eddie Hearn sitting across from each other in a western-style showdown, revealing their chosen fighters through cards. Featuring clips of Nick Ball and Raymond Ford, the trailer draws comparisons to a Guy Ritchie film, with Warren and Hearn leading the narrative.

The trailer also highlights fighters like Wilder and Zhang, with Hearn describing the 'Bronze Bomber' as a bouncer who 'never had a CV, just a fist,' and Warren calling Zhang 'The Thief' who leaves a memorable shiner. Other fighters include Willy Hutchinson as 'The Chef', Craig Richards as 'The Keeper', Hamzah Sheeraz as an artist, and Ammo Williams as a mechanic. The trailer concludes with Daniel Dubois and Filip Hrgovic, who will vie for the vacant IBF heavyweight belt on June 1st.
