Hotspur & Argyle is thrilled to announce that Kieron Hawkes, director of Channel 4’s outstanding new comedy drama ‘Not Safe For Work’, has joined Hotspur & Argyle.
‘Not Safe For Work’ has already been compared to the seminal ‘This Life’ and ‘Peep Show’ by The Guardian. Set in a relocated government department in Northampton, the darkly comic show stars Zawe Ashton of ‘Fresh Meat’ fame battling the twisted bureaucracy and dysfunction of the civil service. After graduating from LFS, Kieron started as an editor, cutting his directing teeth on Channel 4’s ‘The Mimic’ starring Terry Mynott and Neil Maskell. He made his first feature film, ‘Piggy’, in 2012 which, following its theatrical release, went on to be among the most popular on demand titles for Sky in 2013.
Since then he’s also directed the BBC’s hugely successful ‘Ripper Street’ garnering attention in America before taking charge of ‘Not Safe For Work’.
Chuffed Hotspur and Argyle executive producer Danny Fleet says: "Kieron combines a deft touch for performance with considerable technical prowess so he’s perfect for commercials. We are euphoric to have got him".
