After a week of collecting several Lions at the 71st Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, IMPACT BBDO were awarded the Regional Network of the Year trophy for the Middle East and North Africa region.
The accolade followed an impressive performance through the week by the creative agency, with the region’s only Grand Prix in 2024 being awarded to them. This would be IMPACT BBDO’s fourth Grand Prix in five years, and the sixth overall for the MENA region.
In addition to the Grand Prix, IMPACT BBDO’s haul includes a Gold, two Silvers and three Bronzes to accompany several shortlists. These mentions go across five different brand partners. One of the Silvers won by IMPACT BBDO is the only Film Lion awarded to the region this year, going to Floward for their hilarious film “The Mobster.” The Grand Prix for Good in Health was awarded to the powerful “Child Wedding Cards” project for UN Women, in which wedding cards designed entirely by children were mailed to lawmakers in order to fight child marriage.
The trophy haul for IMPACT BBDO also meant that Omnicom is the most awarded holding company in the Middle East for 2024 at Cannes Lions. 2024 marks an astounding sixth year in a row the agency has been the leading Regional Network of the Year at Cannes.
Commenting on the win, Dani Richa, chairman and CEO BBDO EMEA, said, “The only greater recognition for us than being named Regional Network of the Year at Cannes is winning it for the sixth consecutive year - this unprecedented achievement would not have been possible without our incredible partners and dedicated team. The Work X 6.”
Ali Rez, regional chief creative officer at IMPACT BBDO commented, “When you mix brave brand partners who seek the best in creativity, inspiring leadership all the way from global to local, and passionate teams who are aligned in the pursuit of excellence, you get this sort of consistency. Congratulations and thank you to all involved in this spectacular run of creating the best work in the world."
