On Dec. 12, Oscar Mayer and Ryan Reynolds-owned Mint Mobile team up to debut the new “A Side of Bacon” campaign nationwide, providing fans with a delightfully unexpected side of bacon when they purchase a new three-month phone plan.
The two come together in an all-new spot. Fans can visit here to purchase their new plan.
As a brand with a legacy of uniting millions around a love of meat, Oscar Mayer believes everything is better served with bacon – and it’s not just stopping at phone plans. “A Side of Bacon” brings this to reality via OLV, OOH, social media, creator partners and guerilla activations with local retailers – proving Oscar Mayer bacon really makes everything better.
From a tattoo shop, wax salon and dentist’s office, to a plant store, vintage clothing shop, scuba diving facility and more, Oscar Mayer is teaming up with a variety of businesses in major cities to bring a side of bacon to the masses via almost any purchase or experience fans can imagine.
The “A Side of Bacon” campaign and production were developed by Johannes Leonardo, with Starcom’s P57 on U.S. media, and Zeno on public relations and creator.
“We believe – and know bacon lovers everywhere agree – that bacon makes everything better. However, not everything comes with bacon,” said Kelsey Rice, associate director, Oscar Mayer. “As a brand with a history of sparking smiles in unexpected ways, like our beloved 27-foot hot dog on wheels, we challenged ourselves to make this possible… proving to the masses Oscar Mayer bacon truly makes everything better!”
“There's a lot of amazing stuff in the world, but the fact is that almost all of it is even better with a side of Oscar Mayer bacon. This campaign proves it. This work won't just drive sales of bacon– we think it's going to increase the number of people who go get...anything– a wireless plan, a root canal, a Brazilian wax, or even movie tickets- because now they all come with a side of bacon. After all, bacon really does make everything better.” said Zack Roif, creative director at Johannes Leonardo.
