"Uber One, Uber One saves me, it saves me, way more…"
This is just one of the jingles hits that Uber's Super Bowl spot is using to promote its membership program 'Uber One'. Created with ad agency Special Group USA, the rideshare and food delivery app's Big Game spot enlists the help of music mogul and notable hit-maker, Sean 'Diddy' Combs - as well as some other familiar faces (and voices).
Returning to the Super Bowl stage for the third year, Uber has made it its goal to promote the 'Uber One' membership program it launched November 2021. In addition to discounts on Uber rides, Uber Eats food delivery, and grocery orders, members receive special perks, exclusive invites and unique offers.
To spread the word of 'Uber One', Special Group USA and Uber tapped into the ultimate memory hack and the one thing that really sticks in everyone’s minds: music. If they could come up with one hit song for Uber One, everything would click. Enter: Sean 'Diddy' Combs. The artist formerly known as 'P Diddy' is a music mogul and knows the industry inside out. He's one of the most notable music producers in the world and has had immense success as a hit-maker. The only problem was: "Diddy don't do jingles."
However, Diddy does do hits.
So to create the 'One Hit for Uber One', Diddy and Uber assembled a choir of musical darlings responsible for some of the catchiest songs to ever exist. From iconic lyrics to captivating beats, one hit was bound to be made by Montell Jordan ('This Is How We Do It'), Kelis ('Milkshake'), Donna Lewis ('I Love You Always Forever'), Ylvis ('The Fox - What Does the Fox Say?') and Haddaway - whose 1993 hit 'What Is Love?' forms the basis of the final, and arguably catchiest, song in the film.
The spot will air during the second quarter of the Big Game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday 12th. Be prepared to get 'Uber One' stuck in your head.
