P&O Cruises explored new territory with an episodic series of feature films, ‘Norway all the Way’, that took viewers to the Nordics with Rob Brydon and his on screen son.
Founded, the creative agency behind the campaign, and the Snapper production team sought to assuage any doubts around cruise holidays, and show that P&O Cruises holidays have all the right ingredients for a rewarding and fulfilling holiday.
Rob Brydon alongside Jack Crutch, who plays the unwilling holiday companion, explore the Norwegian fjords, building on the experiences on and off the ship – ziplining, kayaking and mountain hikes. The duo work well together in the funny and charming films where, due to his poor mother’s leg being in plaster, Rob Brydon’s son is coerced into joining him on a cruise. Despite his initial reluctance to embark on the trip and an aversion to his dad's jokes, we see the son warming to the experience. The film ends with him being a convert to cruising.
The films were shot in September 2018 by director Joanna Bailey from Snapper, who was chosen for her executional tone and light but deft touch.
P&O Cruises marketing director Emma Mahoney, said: “We know that we are faced with misconceptions about what a cruise holiday can be like. A huge part of a P&O Cruises holiday is getting off the ship and exploring destinations and immersing in the authentic local culture on offer. This is what we really wanted to shine through in these new longer films. Founded’s newest work celebrates all that a P&O Cruises holiday has to offer, with a touch of charm and family bonding. We’re delighted with the success of the campaign, and confident it will inspire many more holiday-makers to try cruising.”
Founded’s business director, Jo Fishburn said: “Our latest P&O Cruises campaign has proven to be highly successful with outstanding results and has taken our work with P&O Cruises to new and exciting areas.”
The films launched in cinemas, VOD and digital channels in late December and are running until end of February 2019.
