Pan-Fried, the brand-new track and video from Kano, is taken from the hotly hyped LP ‘Hoodies All Summer’ which was released on the 30th August on Paralopone. ‘Pan-Fried’ follows the release of ‘Trouble’ and ‘Class of Deja’ which dropped last month.
Shot in East London and directed by Taichi Kimura of Caviar, the video perfectly illustrates the song which is about celebration despite dire circumstance – and the warmth and positivity of the community it represents. The track contrasts summer beats with a furious, dark undertow and features a guest turn from the rapidly ascendant British platinum-selling artist Kojo Funds
.
Kimura who works a lot for the likes of Chase & Status, had this to say on working with Kano and shooting this video: “We are all surrounded by beautiful sights or moments in life but sadly nowadays we only stare at our phones. It’s good to look up and be inspired by what’s around us. I hope that the audience may pick that up from watching this video. It was a real pleasure collaborating with Kano on this who was always looking for interesting camera angles to get a different perspective. Enjoy”.
‘Hoodies All Summer’ is the sixth studio album from Kano, and his first release since his 2016’s acclaimed Mercury –nominated ‘Made In The Manor’. This autumn we will see Kano’s return to our screens for the highly anticipated third series of Top Boy and also to stage with a headline tour kicking off in Glasgow on October 2nd and culminating with a sold-out show at London’s iconic Royal Albert Hall on October 7th.
