Imagine you are just a few centimetres tall and what an adventure it would be to explore the world from a tiny perspective. The ability to play with scale is one of the most powerful aspects of virtual reality. It is this thinking that Hammerhead VR applied to their recent work for the Boursin Sensorium virtual reality roadshow, creating a sensory rollercoaster experience through a decadent fridge.
The Boursin Sensorium virtual reality experience takes you on a magical ride through a fridge, packed with the fresh ingredients included in Boursin original recipes.
Working with experiential agency BEcause, the experience is designed so the user is immersed within the ingredients, sweeping through the herb forest, ducking beneath the towering vegetables, and winding around giant bottles of bubbly. It’s a journey like no other!
Director, Simon Windsor, “We had great fun creating this experience, and pushing the level of realism to provide near photo-real quality. Designing a roller coaster experience required a careful balance to achieve the thrills of the ride but also maintain a comfortable and enjoyable user experience.”
Hammerhead were commissioned to create the DK2 VR experience, build and remotely manage the PCs and hardware, produce a 360 video for Google Cardboard and mobile VR headsets, and develop an application to capture and share user reaction videos at the events.
