Last year, CP+B launched ‘The Obvious Choice’ campaign for Hotels.com, which introduced the new character Captain Obvious. A fixture of pop culture for decades, Captain Obvious was brought to life in order to show why Hotels.com is the obvious choice for booking hotels. The campaign, which won a Bronze Film Lion at Cannes, is now back with two new spots that just debuted on TV in the US and Canada.
Directed by Ted Melfi, the 30 second spot “Can’t Hide” features Captain Obvious explaining the benefits of the Hotels.com Mobile App to a man who has just locked himself out of his hotel room in his underwear.
Three additional 15 second “Gym” commercials –designed to run in the same pod on television, and within the same episode online – feature Captain Obvious taking a series of breaks from his workout to make sure people know why they might not have heard about the latest sale from Hotels.com.
