A Series of Films Created by Dallas-based TMA (The Marketing Arm) Will Help Get the Word Out

In 2022, Uber Eats, in partnership with Visa and the Local Initiatives Support Corporation, launched a B2B small business effort. Called 'Grants for Growth,' the program offered $10,000 grants to up to 100 small businesses affected by covid-19, natural disasters, or other unexpected events across the US. The program targeted merchants in 10 cities active on Uber Eats (such as Boston, Philadelphia, and New York City), with a weighted preference for women-owned, veteran-owned, or other diverse-owned enterprises.

This year, Uber Eats is once again partnering with Visa on a B2B small business program designed to support small- and medium-sized businesses on the Uber Eats platform in their transition to greener and more sustainable packaging solutions - only this time it is global. Together, Uber Eats and Visa will make $1 million accessible to qualifying Uber Eats restaurants in London, Madrid, Paris, Los Angeles, and New York City to be used toward funding sustainable packaging solutions to help transition to a greener future, which hospitality industry research indicates is a top priority for 2023. It’s part of Uber’s efforts to become a zero-emissions platform by 2040.

Applications are now open and more information can be found here. The program builds on the success of the 'Grants for Growth' initiative the previous year:

To help get the word out, Uber Eats and Visa have partnered with Dallas-based TMA (The Marketing Arm) to create a series of 06, 15, and 30-second films explaining the program and celebrating several of its recipients (One Love Kitchen in London and Will’s Deli in Paris). The videos will run in the UK, France, Spain, and the US on social media channels, including Meta, Snapchat, LinkedIn, and YouTube.

As Pierre-Dmitri Gore-Coty, SVP and global head of delivery for Uber, said, “Building on the success of our shared support for small- and medium-sized businesses, I’m very happy to be turning our efforts with Visa toward how we can help restaurant owners reduce packaging waste and contribute to the fight against climate change. Single-use packaging is used in nearly every takeout order worldwide - with Visa and our restaurant partners, we can work toward reducing waste and helping small businesses thrive.”
